PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: A34 (Other) Complementary medicine
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Magnesium is a cofactor in more than 300 enzyme systems regulating biochemical reactions in the body and supplementation is vital in Magnesium deficiency states.
INDICATIONS:
For the supplementation of magnesium and zinc in cases of insufficient intake.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
WARNINGS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
If any adverse reaction occurs stop taking this product and contact your healthcare professional.
Patients taking any other medication should consult their healthcare professional before taking any complementary medicine. When starting any new medication always tell your healthcare professional if you are taking any complementary medicine. Do not use if you suffer from the following: Renal impairment, Dehydration, Gastric lesions or disorders.
When taken in very large amounts, magnesium is POSSIBLY UNSAFE. Large doses might cause potential serious build up in the body.
INTERACTIONS:
Tetracycline and quinolone type antibiotics cannot be taken together with magnesium, discuss with your healthcare professional. Magnesium supplements will further increase levels of Magnesium in the body, if taken with Magnesium containing multivitamins, antacids or laxatives. Ask your healthcare professional about taking Magnesium with thyroid medication, bisphosphonates (for osteoporosis).
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:
When taken at the recommended dose, Magni-Slow Zinc is considered safe for pregnant and breast-feeding women. Discuss the need for taking extra Magnesium with your doctor or Pharmacist. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your healthcare practitioner before using this product.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Take one to three tablets daily in divided doses.
It is recommended that the major dose is taken at night after food.
Do not exceed recommended dosage without consulting your healthcare practitioner.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Magni-Slow Zinc tablets are normally well tolerated, but mild forms of diarrhoea, nausea and bowel discomfort may occur. If any of these symptoms persist contact your healthcare professional. Not all side effects reported for this medicine are included in this leaflet.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF TREATMENT:
In the event of overdosage consult your healthcare professional or hospital. Refer to “Warnings”. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.
IDENTIFICATION: A white, round film coated tablet.
PRESENTATION: 60 tablets in a brown (amber), glass bottle with a white pilfer-proof screwcap and a protective seal.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Keep container well-closed. Protect from light. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
